Sector Overview

The Attractions industry is a core tourism sub-sector for Singapore which brings about direct and indirect economic benefits and creates demand for other tourism sub-sectors such as accommodation, retail and dining.

Attractions play an integral role in making Singapore an exciting destination for tourists. New and exciting developments in the pipeline include the expansion plans for the two Integrated Resorts, the Mandai Project, the Sentosa-Brani Masterplan, and Jurong Lake District. More attractions are also being set up in retail malls as part of a growing trend of retail-tainment.

With growing competition and emerging trends such as digitalisation, business needs of the Attractions industry are constantly evolving to stay relevant. Coupled with the impact of COVID-19, it becomes an imperative for the Attractions workforce to deepen their specialist skills and acquire new skills in areas, such as Data Analytics, Digitalisation and Experience Design, that will strengthen Singapore's position as a leading Attractions destination through the creation of high impact, diverse and original experiences.
